Body:
Made from Spanish Cedar, the depth on all models is 35mm; the top is 4mm thick. The edge has a 3.125mm radius. On current models the jack socket is on the lower right bout but in future I will be using a combined strap button type socket on the butt end.
Neck:
Quartersawn Spanish cedar, no truss rod. Gibson style heel and full 13mm depth (excluding fingerboard) at the nut end tapered to the heel to an increasing depth of 16mm. The rosewood fingerboard has 19 vintage style nickel-silver frets and 2.5mm MOP position markers at 5, 7, 10, 12 and 15, single side marker at 7. The tuners are gold plated replica Gotohs with amber buttons.
Other bits
Nut and saddle are camel bone, bridge pins plastic and bridge rosewood. Strap buttons are gold plated. Strings are Aquila Nylguts. Unless otherwise specified the pickup is an under-the-saddle Arctec ukulele pickup. Active option is available on all models - see prices page.
Finish
Nitro cellulose lacquer over vinyl sealer and paste filler. Back of instrument, sides and neck are satin finsih. The face is hand rubbed gloss.
Set-up
Unless requested the action is 'slick' at both ends so if you are a demon strummer request a high action. |  |
